How To Pair Your Wireless Buzzers with the USB Receiver

August 15, 2024

Not all Affordable Buzzers tabletop models need to be paired with a receiver. Only buzzers with GRAY colored buzzer number stickers on the bottom of the buzzer require pairing.

Any other color number sticker will communicate with its receiver without requiring any pairing.

Buzzers with GRAY number stickers will require a USB receiver with pairing capability. Pairing receivers are marked with a black stripe across the back side of the receiver.

Buzzer Pairing Procedure
  1. Connect a USB pairing receiver to your computer via the USB port.

  2. Flip the buzzer power switch to the ON position.

  3. Press and HOLD the buzzer button for a few seconds until a steady green LED is illuminated.

  4. Release and press the buzzer button 2 or 3 times until the red LED flashes each time the button is pressed.

  5. This completes the pairing operation and your buzzer should now work with your application. It is always best practice to TEST YOUR BUZZER before putting it into use in a live competition or game.

If you cannot successfully pair the buzzer to produce the steady green light

  1. Slide the buzzer power switch to the OFF position for a few seconds.

  2. Repeat the Buzzer Pairing Procedure above.

To pair your buzzer with a NEW or different USB receiver

  1. Connect the new USB receiver to your computer

  2. Follow the Buzzer Pairing Procedure above

Notes:

  • Once paired to a USB receiver, the buzzer pairing will be "remembered" by the electronic circuits and will NOT be affected by any of the following
    • The buzzer is powered off using the power switch
    • The batteries are removed
    • The USB receiver is disconnected from your computer
  • The pairing procedure will work whenever the buzzer is in range of the pairing USB receiver. If multiple paired systems are in use in the same area, pair your buzzers when they are close to the computer that is connected to the desired pairing computer so that it is not accidentally paired with a differenct USB receiver currently in use within the same area.
